Biography

Marcus Fraser (Aus)
Born: July 26, 1978 | Residence: Beaumaris, Australia | Turned pro: 2002
Titles: Asian: 2; Euro: 3

Marcus Fraser rode the wave of Australian success in 2016 to claim the Maybank Championship Malaysia, winning by two shots from Soomin Lee and Miguel Tabuena. The win in Kuala Lumpur helped banish the frustrations caused by a hand injury, that forced him to miss most of the 2014 campaign. His last European Tour win came in 2010 at the Ballantine’s Championship in Korea. It was an emotional victory because a year before he had travelled to Jeju Island to play in the tournament but in doing so missed his uncle’s funeral. The absence had played on his mind ever since that week and it was no surprise to whose memory he dedicated his victory 12 months later. Marcus finished tied third at the Hero Indian Open 2015 and didn’t miss a single cut on the Asian Tour in 2015. His brother Adam also played on the Asian Tour.
