A New Era of Excellence:
Hero Indian Open 2026
Hero MotoCorp’s commitment to Indian golf continues to shape a defining new era for the sport. Since our 2005 debut, we have transformed a regional ambition into a world-tier spectacle, mirroring our own ascent as a global industry leader.
This journey is best defined by our record-breaking $2.55 million prize pool—a massive evolution from the tournament’s $300,000 origins. Alongside international stars such as Hero MotoCorp Global Ambassador Akshay Bhatia, Francesco Molinari, and defending champion Eugenio Chacarra, the field also features rising talents like Rayhan Thomas, Shubhankar Sharma, Veer Ahlawat and Yuvraj Sandhu. Together, they reflect the growing confidence and promising future of Indian golf.

The Legacy of the
Hero Indian Open
The Hero Indian Open began in 1964, driven by golfing legend Peter Thomson, whose vision helped establish India’s National Open on the global stage. Thomson also won the inaugural edition, leaving a lasting mark on Indian golf and helping shape the tournament into one of Asia’s most prestigious events.
