OM PRAKASH CHOUHAN, DANIEL YOUNG’S TEAM WINS THE IGU PRO-AM AT HERO INDIAN OPEN
Om Prakash Chouhan, a winner on the DP World PGTI this season, and Scotland’s Daniel Young, who ruled the Farmfoods Scottish Challenge on the HotelPlanner Tour last year, combined their golfing prowess to power their team top of the podium in the Indian Golf Union’s Pro-Am ahead of the 2026 Hero Indian Open at the DLF Golf and Country Club.
Quite like the action expected at the National Open later in the week, no inch was yielded on the warm Tuesday morning, and the action from tee to green was captivating.
With the contest as engaging, a keen fight was a natural corollary, and three teams finished at 50-under.
Despite there being little to choose between the sides, a winner had to be decided, and the tie was broken on countback.
Chouhan and Young, who played nine holes apiece like the other professionals, displayed stronger nerves, as did their amateur teammates Harpuneet Sandhu, Anil Dev and Gen Mukesh Sabharwal to triumph.
Angad Cheema and Seam Crocker, again winners on their respective Tours, finished behind the top team. The amateurs in their squad comprised Sanjay Jain, Amarinder Singh and Raminder Bajwa.
Two-time HotelPlanner Tour winner James Morrison and David Puig, a prominent name from the LIV Golf League, lent able support as amateurs Ravi Chopra, Aviraj Chopra and Rohan Khattar made a mark in their unique way by taking the third spot.
With an enhanced prize purse of US $ 2.55 million, Hero Indian Open tees off at the DLF Golf and Country Club from 26th March. The tournament will feature a world-class field led by PGA Tour star Akshay Bhatia and Major champion Francesco Molinari, along with top Indian golfers.
